Going to see Kristen and Joshua (I would link but I'm on a mac and can't find the link bar)today in Dallas, and the best part is that I finally get to meet Judah!

Despite rumors of horrible reviews of LOTR "Return of the King", I must say...amazing. Never have i sat in one place watching a movie for 3.5 hours and not wanted it to end--EVER. Well done but sad it's over...guess I'll have to go see it again!

Last few days of austin have been great before my final return to NC for a while. Last night Erika, Stacy and I walked down to 37th St to check out the lights with coffee in hand and dog on leash. I was reminded again of how cool Austin is, especially where I happen to live. Every house on the street, as well as the literal street itself, is covered in lights in a tastefully kitschy (you think and oxymoron but its not) manner, obviously created by artists. From entirely wrapped aluminum trees and white twinkle lights, to a river of lights with lit fish, to a house that has a volcanic eruption done all in lights and smoke; and an old oven on the front lawn thrown in for good measure ...this is a must see.

Sugar scrubbing season is now offically over. Now it is time to concentrate on Christmas and all that brings with it. I'm quite pleased that I haven't waited until Dec. 24th to try to get into this "Christmas spirit" you hear so much about this time of year (waiting until then is my own yearly Christmas tradition normally) and am making a conscious effort to try to enjoy all that this season brings (minus the high credit card bills, crowded parking lots, screaming children in stores, and the stress of having to buy everyone and their mother a gift out of obligation which- out of principle- infuriates me).
Tonight I plan to go out and see the lights on 37th street with some friends and perhaps get over to see Zilker park, which was so brightly lit up that I caught sight of it from the interstate last night. That should do it
