Off to San Antonio for assessment weekend.
Interview went well today; I think I got the job but I'm not sure if I should take it or not. I'm having ethical issues with the situation, especially coming from a retail mngt. background. I'm aware of how hard it is to get good people that are willing to work for squatty pay, and if you find them...you hang on to them for dear life and hope they never want to leave! I feel like I'm misleading the owners because I will only be there for a month before it's time to head back to Prague. I swore to myself that I would answer all interview questions honestly, and I did...they just never asked me any questions that would force me to have to answer that I would only be there for a short time. It would be really nice to have a little cash to take back to Prague and to pay off a small amout of ready reserve I have remaining-- plus, I'm itching to get my hands dirty and do some service work again with the public. It will work out the way it's supposed to I guess.

"It's gittin' hott in her" (sung in my best Nelly voice!)...went out with the girlz and Nathan tonight and had a great time. We had a Cuban dinner and then out to the Speak Easy for some dancing, cosmopolitans and some good ol' Motown covers by this band "the Memphis Train Review”. They also did a little Nelly, it was amusing. My friend Erika got asked up on stage to rap a verse and Nathan got asked up to shake his booty..., which he did pretty well mind you!
San Antonio for the assessment tomorrow as well as a job interview at 2pm.Wish me luck!

Just when I thought that we were all on the same page about what constitutes a church...I realize we are on the same page...just a different book. Knocks the wind right outta ya when you aren't expecting it. Pressing on-- knowing who is truly leading me on my journey and I feel confident that the same is happening with my friends (my CHURCH) who are affected by this insanity that continues to be an issue. Seminary degrees,Theological rhetoric and even pomo thinkers that think they have figured it all out are incomparable to that which is guiding me and the church that is around me in my everyday life. I have no question in my mind that I am part of the larger body. When I feel as if I need nourishment outside of what comes normally, it comes from Him not from obligation, and I attend to it…to stay healthy and fulfill Christ’s desires for me. Who are we to judge other Christian leaders on whether they are positive examples or not, based on whether they attend "church" once a week? Is that what it takes, is that all? gee, thats easy???!!! Have'nt we ALREADY discussed this, like 5 years ago?
I want to shout expletives out of frustration, but I won’t cause I just found out my grandmother reads this. Hi Grandma :-)

Found a new place for the Friday night gig--Wabi Sabi. You want Texas...you get Texas. 45-acre ranch, no noise or time restrictions, and a place for a Texas sized bonfire! And, with this newfound freedom we are thinking we can open somethings up to creative expression instead of just a dinner and mingling. Hey and the best part is...if we want to get there early, we can shoot skeet! Gotta love Texas. BTW, BBQ TOO!!!

Stubbs Gospel brunch...amazing. They had a student Gospel choir today and they were intense. When you want to cry over your grits and migros, you know you're feeling the Spirit!
It's about 1:30am now and Stacy, Nathan, Erika and myself just finished doin some of the mad libs I bought for one of the Jones kids. I'll have to get Samuel a new one because we couldn't stop...they were so funny.
Sad that we all had to be reminded what an adverb was however!
