My friend Scott is a chef and has worked for some of the finest restaurants in Charlotte. He came over last night and cooked an amazing and memorable meal for my family. After dinner it turned into a strange night when my family decided to start the conversation up about my teenage years (specificly 15-19)...alittle uncomfortable but we were all able to laugh for the most part...them more than me I think.

Boy oh boy am I exausted...helped plant 1000 of 2000 trees on my Dads burm today (which he has named Mt. Strickmore) along with the help of Martina and Scott. Grandma rescued me for a few minutes so we could run up to the store to buy a couple of lotto tickets. The lotto is a new thing here in SC and neither of us have really done it before so she wanted moral support and for me to ask the women behind the register how it works exactly...I have a good feelin!!! Dad and I already figured out what we will do with all of it...first thing will be to hire someone else to plant the rest of these trees!

Congratulations to my friend Jarda who has just accepted the position of CEO of the second largest portal website in the entire country of the Czech Rep. Jarda is a great friend and an overall terrific guy who has achieved major successes in his life already and he's only 30 (and not only in the business world) and its looks as though the blessings continue. Im sorry that he won't be joining the "Weeping Jesus Tour" in March here in the states but I know that God will work something out so I will be able to see him again soon and so he can travel as his heart wishes. I wish him great success and abundant love and Jarda's PS at the end of his email is typical of his nature,...PS: God is good. So good... Just don't be afraid and follow your heart. New beginning... In real and from the scratch

How is it that I seem to sit back at the end of the day and feel like I have accomplished nothing but have been running non stop? Today I have nothing to say but want to say something...Im restless and feel as though Im in some in between period. Won't know what Im "in between" until the other end has happened and it's over. I think it's feeling the pressure of wanting to be back in Texas to work on DoxaQeren and Wabi-Sabi, plus to see my new found buds. God's trying to teach me patience, how to leave my control issues up to Him, and finally and the most difficult lesson to sink into my thick (and sometimes stubborn) skull is the ability to enjoy where I am at the present moment instead of always projecting where I "will be" and what "will be" happening in the future.

Have found a sunday morning church that is culturally more diverse than any I have seen before called Seigle ave. Presby in Charlotte. Its in the middle of a neighborhood called Piedmont court, which has the reputation for being one of the roughest in the entire city. The pastor,Floretta Watkins gave a sermon that inspired loud "amens", raised arms and stomping feet throughout the congregation. In Texas we have been talking about how to incorporate the discussion of increasing the attention of cultural and ethnic diversity, and plan on adding it to Wabi Sabi conference topics. We say we want it but don't really reach out to achieve it, so Im wondering how this church in Charlotte has obtained it. You have homeless, Asian, black, white, rich , poor, old, young, gay, straight and today Czech and my grandparents...not bad for one church of about 100+people in a part of town where you dodge gun fire on the regular.
